Rio de Janeiro policemen to train more

From now on the new members of the Military Police in Rio de Janeiro will have to train more before being able to get their certificate and work in the community. The increased training will include new modules focusing mainly on community policing and conflict management.

From 7 to 10 months police training in Rio de Janeiro.

The new training course for soldiers will increase its theory part from 7 to 10 months and then be finished with a two-months ‘internship’, shadowing experienced military policemen and women. The new chef of police says that the new curriculum meets the demands of society.
