Visit Buzios from Rio de Janeiro

After such a long time only taking tourists to visit Buzios, I have managed to spend a well deserved weekend at this lovely town.

The trip to Buzios from Rio de Janeiro lasts about 2.5 hours. You leave the south zone of Rio and take ‘Linha Vermelha’, which is the main motorway you should take to leave the city.

Be aware of the trafic early in the morning. It can be massive!

Buzios in 2 days or more.

If you visit Buzios for more than 1 day I recommend a ´pousada’ (type of bed and breakfast accommodation). It must be located close to downtown Buzios. This way you are close to some beaches and don’t need a car to go to the famous Rua das Pedras.
